about
This song was written last Christmas and came about after
the loss of a dear friend. The song is about how their spirit stays
with you long after they're gone.
lyrics
The rain falls down , the days still light.
Through the window, and its wintertime
Come all ye faithful playing in the background.
As my eyes are drawn to those who are living on the ground.
I look upon the faces of the people in the street.
Some they seem restless , Some are glad at what they seek
Children's simplicity at the magic they believe.
while others hanker for the things they think they should receive.
The light breaks through the clouds to fill with colour in this space.
And I watch the birds, their stillness as they look ahead with grace.
Sometimes the simple things they remind us what it true.
I'll rest my head a while
So I can be with you.
returning home , it's warm inside.
the only place some have is a place to hide.
the year is winding down, it seems to pass before it's time.
When you're starting to begin, you see the ending is in sight.
These things we lose and these things that stay.
You can raise your glass or choose to pray.
but all that has come has been cast out for today.
wherever hope may find you , you'll always find a way.
The book of life words change to every reader that they reach.
and when we cast a little light on who's meaning do they teach.
And accept that burning bridges light up and then they fall.
I'll rest my head a while.
So I can be with you. (C)
